COLOGNE, October 2026. Levitask, a wellness furniture company on a mission to change how the world sits, makes its European trade debut at ORGATEC 2026, Hall 7.1, Stand E-065, from 27 to 30 October, introducing Elevated Seating: the first seating concept designed for all-day comfort at the correct hip angle.
For over half a century the office chair has held the human body at 90 degrees. That standard was never designed around the body. It was adopted, accepted, and never questioned. At 90 degrees the pelvis tilts back, the spine rounds, and most people are slouched within the hour. The Vision Chair opens that angle automatically the moment you sit, and the spine corrects itself. No lumbar support. No adjustment. No effort.
Europe is where this idea began, and where its moment has finally arrived. The story starts in Copenhagen in 1981, where a German design student named Klaus Kummer studied under Dr. A.C. Mandal, one of the first researchers to challenge conventional seated posture and ask why such an adverse way of sitting had come to be regarded as correct. Klaus devoted his graduate project to that question, spent years designing for the commercial furniture industry, then left to pursue it independently. He filed his first patent application in 2013 and spent the following decade refining the patent-pending T-Mech™ mechanism through dozens of prototypes.

"The Vision Chair is a German idea, shaped in Denmark, that is coming home. ORGATEC is where the European contract market decides what comes next, and Elevated Seating belongs in that conversation."
Michael Gotfrid, CEO and Co-Founder, Levitask
"Dr. Mandal asked a question in the 1970s that the industry has never properly answered: how did such an adverse way of sitting come to be regarded as correct? I have spent forty years working on that answer. The Vision Chair is it."
Klaus Kummer, Co-Founder and Vision Chair Designer, Levitask
Why now
Elevated Seating positions the body higher and more open than a conventional chair, which only works if the desk can rise to meet it. For most of the forty years Klaus spent developing the idea, that infrastructure did not exist. The widespread adoption of height-adjustable desks across European offices has changed that. The workplace has completed a transition the chair has not, and the Vision Chair closes the gap.
How it works
In a natural standing or lightly reclined position, the hip angle sits closer to 115 to 135 degrees. The patent-pending T-Mech™ knee-pivot mechanism restores that range the moment the user sits, opening the hip angle to 115 to 125 degrees, rotating the pelvis forward and returning the spine to its natural S-curve. Conventional chairs compensate for a flawed geometry with lumbar pads and foam inserts. The Vision Chair corrects the geometry itself. Users sit longer without discomfort, hold an upright posture without thinking about it, and finish the day with less of the fatigue and back tension that define long hours at a desk.

The Vision Collection
The Vision X features an adjustable headrest, recline up to 125 degrees and optional 4D armrests. The Vision Y delivers the same core Elevated Seating experience in a streamlined format suited to office, hybrid and mobile work. Both feature polished aluminium frames with a stingray-inspired curvature, biodegradable TPU wheels and a proprietary Anti-Slip Matrix™ seat surface that maintains posture in the elevated position. Available in Deep Coal and Cosmic Gray, accommodating users from 150 cm to 210 cm with a certified capacity of 125 kg, and assembling tool-free in under ten minutes. Backed by a 10-year structural and mechanism warranty and a 5-year fabric and upholstery warranty.

At ORGATEC 2026
Levitask invites architects, interior designers, workplace strategists and media to experience Elevated Seating firsthand at Hall 7.1, Stand E-065, from 27 to 30 October 2026. Every day at 15:00, Klaus Kummer is at the stand in person to demonstrate the chair and answer questions. Because Elevated Seating positions the body differently, every visitor is shown how to use the chair rather than left to work it out alone.
