Levitask Vision Chair Wins Best of NeoCon 2026 Innovation Award
Levitask’s Vision Chair wins the Best of NeoCon 2026 Innovation Award, validating Elevated Seating as a new direction for workplace furniture.

Industry recognition at Levitask’s North American debut validates Elevated Seating as a new direction for workplace furniture.
CHICAGO, June 2026. Levitask has received the Best of NeoCon 2026 Innovation Award for the Vision Chair, marking a major milestone in the company’s mission to change the way the world sits.
The award was announced on Monday, June 8, at Chicago’s Merchandise Mart, following evaluations by the Best of NeoCon jury during the opening weekend of the show. It recognizes products that introduce a genuinely new idea to the commercial interiors industry.

For Levitask, the recognition extends beyond the chair itself. The Vision Chair is the first commercial expression of Elevated Seating, a fundamentally different approach to sitting that replaces the conventional 90-degree posture with a more open hip angle of approximately 115 degrees.
Rather than relying on lumbar supports and added cushioning to compensate for conventional chair geometry, the Vision Chair changes the geometry itself. Its patented T-Mech™ mechanism opens the body automatically as the user sits, helping the pelvis move forward and allowing the spine to maintain a more natural alignment.

Throughout NeoCon, the Vision Chair was experienced by interior designers, architects, workplace specifiers, ergonomists, furniture dealers and retailers, corporate buyers, and end users. Many approached the chair with understandable questions about its elevated position. Those concerns quickly disappeared after sitting in it, giving way to curiosity, enthusiasm, and a genuine interest in a different way of sitting.
The response provided an important form of validation for a product that challenges one of the most established assumptions in workplace design: that sitting at 90 degrees is normal simply because it has been the industry standard for decades.
The Vision Chair is the result of more than forty years of work by German designer and Levitask Co-Founder Klaus Kummer. His exploration began in Copenhagen in 1981, influenced by the research of Dr. A.C. Mandal, one of the earliest researchers to challenge conventional seated posture.

Klaus later developed and patented the mechanism behind the Vision Chair, refining it through multiple generations of prototypes before bringing it to market with Levitask.
“Dr. Mandal asked a question in the 1970s that no one in the industry has ever properly answered: how did such an adverse way of sitting come to be regarded as correct? I have spent forty years working on that answer. The Vision Chair is it.”
Klaus Kummer, Co-Founder & Vision Chair Designer
The Vision Chair is available in two models, Vision X and Vision Y. Both are built around the same Elevated Seating principle and patented T-Mech™ mechanism, with configurations designed for executive, workplace, hybrid, and home-office environments.

The Best of NeoCon Innovation Award follows Levitask’s first major North American industry presentation and represents an early but meaningful endorsement of the company’s broader ambition: to establish Wellness Furniture as a category designed not merely to accommodate the body, but to support how people feel and perform throughout the day.
“We entered NeoCon with a clear conviction: the conventional 90-degree chair is not the final answer, and Elevated Seating can become the new standard. The response from the industry, our peers, and the people who experienced the Vision Chair firsthand validated that conviction. This award is an important signal that we are moving in the right direction as we pursue our mission to change the way the world sits.”
Michael Gotfrid, CEO and Co-Founder, Levitask
